Training Centers

While our club provides a great place to learn about the history, strategy and techniques of fencing, at this time we are not able to actually fence on school property for safety reasons. We encourage members to explore opportunities for actual training with local, professional fencing clubs. These clubs offer structured lessons, bouting, and competitive opportunities. Here are some options:

Round Rock Fencing Club

Austin Fencers Club

  • Location: Downtown Austin
  • Offerings: Classes for all ages and skill levels, private lessons, and competitive training.
  • Beginner lessons: 30-minute introductory lessons for newcomers to learn the basics of holding the blade, footwork, and rules.
  • Youth and Adult classes: Structured classes for different ages and skill levels.

Texas Fencing Academy

  • Location: North Austin
  • Offerings: Classes focus on teaching the Olympic sports of epee and saber from beginners to competitive athletes, and aims to develop both physical and mental skills.
  • Introductory: introduce basic movements, safety rules, and an overview of fencing etiquette.
  • Recreational: TFA offers classes that focus on improving skills and sportsmanship in a fun and engaging environment.
  • Competitive Training: programs for fencers to compete at local, regional, and national levels.
